Phlebotomist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team at Life Medical Clinic Tamarin.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely collect blood and other biological specimens using approved techniques.
- · Ensure correct patient identification and accurate specimen labelling.
- · Handle, store, and transport specimens in line with SOPs and safety standards.
- · Prepare samples for testing and maintain proper documentation and logs.
- · Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and professionalism.
- · Observe patients for any adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
- · Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment.
- · Assist laboratory staff with routine tasks as required.
- · Monitor and report phlebotomy supply levels.
- · Strictly adhere to infection control, safety, and biohazard protocols.
- · Collect payments for laboratory services and ensure accurate cash handling.
- · Hand over payments promptly to the Accounts Department.
- · Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Phlebotomy or a related healthcare field.
- · Minimum 5 years’ experience as a phlebotomist.
- · Good knowledge of infection control practices and specimen handling procedures.
- · Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
